Honored and respected by all, Mrs. Joseph Bond passed away in St. Vincents Hospital, Lismore, on February 15th, at the age of 77 years. Deceased was born in the Goulburn district and removed to North Urbenville 20 years ago, where with her husband and family she settled on the land at Warroona Station. The deceased lady was a staunch Catholic and was attended to by Rev. Fathers McGrath, Cusack and Gunn. Her disposition was unassuming and gentle, and she was respected by everyone who knew her, irrespective of class or creed. Deceased was noted for her hospitality, and no one was ever in want around Waroona. The funeral was largely attended, which proceeded from St. Carthage's Church to Lismore Cemetery, the Rev. Father McGrath officiating at the graveside. The deceased leaves a family of eight— five sons and three daughters." - Sydney Freeman's Journal, Thursday 13 March 1930, page 44
