Milanville, PA - John P. Austin, of Milanville, PA a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home. The son of the late Charles and Martha (Wheeler) Austin, he was born April 3, 1945, in Honesdale, PA. He was 75 years old. John was one of 18 children.
John was married for 45 years to Susannah (Collins), she survives. John was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hawley, PA . He was a member of the Labor grange.
A family statement reads: "John was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved to talk to people, he would talk your ear off. He enjoyed working at Cove Haven, and White Beauty View. He enjoyed fixing things, driving snowmobiles across the lake, watching western movies. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all."
He is survived by his wife: Susannah "Sue", three sons: Richard Austin and his wife Betsy of Milanville, PA, John Austin of Milanville, Charles Austin and his fiancée Rebecca Wallace of Milanville, PA, four grandchildren: Melissa Austin, Michael Austin, Wolfgang Austin and Robert Cross, two sisters: Paula Anderson of AZ, Martha Frisbie of Matamoras, PA. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
John is predeceased by 8 brothers and 7 sisters.
