Professional hockey player. He was born in 1948 in Weetsp, Netherlands. During his 13 years he played professional hockey, he played 583 NHL games, he scored 30 goals, assisted on 145 others, and had 508 penalty minutes. He died in 1999 when he drowned at his summer home in Ontario.

A native of Weesp, The Netherlands, Kea played the position of Defenseman. At 6'03, and 190lbs, Kea played for the Collingwood Legionnaires from 1967 to 1969 (OHA-C), Collingwood Kings from 1967 to 1969 (OHA-Sr.), Jersey Devils from 1969 to 1971 (EHL), Seattle Totems from 1970 to 1971 (WHL), St. Petersburg Suns from 1971 to 1972 (EHL), Omaha Knights from 1972 to 1975 (CHL), Atlanta Flames from 1974 to 1979 (NHL), Tulsa Oilers from 1978 to 1979 (CHL), St. Louis Blues from 1979 to 1983 (NHL), and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles from 1982 to 1983 (CHL). Kea who was a member of the CHL Second All-Star Team in 1974, had his career cut short due to a freak accident. Kea hit his head on the ice while playing for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, and had to have several operations to help with the severe head trauma. Although the operations helped a bit, Kea would be handicapped for the rest of his life. He soon retired from hockey and spent the rest of his life with his wife and children. On August 31, 1999, Kea drowned at his family cottage in Six Mile Lake, Ontario, at the age of 51.
