Mrs. Janice Lewis Crawford, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery by the Rev. Roger Leggett. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 12 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. The wearing of masks and following social distancing guidelines are requested.

Mrs. Crawford, daughter of the late Willie James and Lillie Williams Lewis, was a native of Pitt County. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and attended Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC for two years. She married Rev. William Arthur Crawford and eventually they settled in Williamston, where Mrs. Crawford was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Williamston Primary School for the Martin County School System, retiring in 1998. After residing in Williamston for 40 years, in 2012 they moved to Raleigh to make their home near their daughter. She attended Capital Pentecostal Holiness Church in Raleigh. For a number of years Mrs. Crawford served as the Girls’ Ministries Director for North Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. W. A. Crawford in 2013.

She is survived by daughters, Judith Crawford Nicholson and husband, Ben, of Raleigh and
Jandra Crawford Dillon and husband, Keith, of Thomasville; a son, William “Alan” Crawford and wife, Pam, of Oak Island; grandchildren, Matthew Nicholson, Jenna Nicholson and husband Adrian Grieb, Adam Crawford, Mark Crawford, Janison Dillon and husband Andrew Penny and Jonathan Dillon and wife Rebekah; and great-grandchildren, Marcus Crawford and Joelle Grieb.
