Mae Annabell Brown
December 8, 1929 - January 11, 2021

Mae Annabell Brown, age 91 of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021. She had recently been ill and though weary, fought through until just days before passing when she was able to communicate with her daughters not only her love for all her family.

Mae was born in Ithaca, NE on December 8, 1929. She often spoke of enjoying a wonderful childhood in her ancestral home full of family, surrounded by rolling hills of crops and barns full of animals she loved dearly. Additionally, she talked of a family move to Ft. Meyers, FL where she made lifetime friends and enjoyed the beautiful beaches. It is there that she completed high school, attended junior college, and worked as a telephone operator.

In 1951, she was very proud to use her diploma to enlist in the US Armed Forces as her brothers had. After basic training, she served with the medical supply unit at Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in Biloxi, MS. It was there she met the love of her life Henry C. Brown. Later in 1952, although she was scheduled to transfer to Germany, acceptance of a marriage proposal turned her life in a new direction. Because Mae and Henry had just purchased new uniforms, they decided to wear them as formal dress for their wedding in Gulfport, MS on December 5, 1952. The family in attendance during the private wedding ceremony at a local church was the bride's mother, Hedwig (Hatty) Timm.

After Henry's retirement from the Air Force together they owned and operated Azalea Radio and TV for over 30 years in Ocean Springs, MS. At the time of Henry's passing on November 2, 2002, they had remained married until just short of their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Clay Brown, her parents, Roy William Timm, Sr and Hedwig Frieda Martha Schlage, and her brothers Roy Timm, Jr, Ivan Timm, and Marvin Timm.

Their union was blessed and survived by three daughters, Belinda Mae, Renda Kaye, and Eva Renee'. Subsequent marriages of their daughters produced Mae and Henry's six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

On behalf of Mae Annabell Brown, the family would like to express much gratitude to Greenbrier Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice for their excellent care. Also, many thanks to the loving expressions of care and concern from many loving extended family members and friends. Due to covid, the family will hold a private service at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. In lieu of flowers, and because of her passion for nursing and animals please donate to your favorite charity in her name.
