She was born August 5, 1952 in Davis County, IA to James and Betty Wardlow Marts.
She married Robert Allen West on July 26, 1974. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2015.
A 1970 graduate of Davis County High School, she had worked for the Wapello County Jail several years and helped her husband, Bob, with farming.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Connie loved to cook, decorate her home, arts and crafts and enjoyed plants and flowers.
Surviving is a daughter, Sally (Dustin) Heckethorn of Milton; two grandchildren, Tristen Marks and D.J. Heckethorn; two step grandchildren, Cameron and Grace Heckethorn; a sister, Joni Hamm; brothers-in-law, Don Cuneio of Savannah, GA, Gary (Joan) West of Ottumwa and Russ (Connie) Bennett of Sigourney; a sister-in-law, Delores Taylor of Clarksville, TN; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcia Cuneio and Nikki Yearns and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Limited open visitation for friends will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday November 24th at Reece Funeral Home.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday November 25th at Floris Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Shipley officiating.
Those attending the service are asked to wear masks, or an appropriate face covering and adhere to the current social distancing guidelines. For those unable to attend the service, you may watch live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
