Her husband entered active U.S.A.F. duty in 1966 and together they began a great adventure that touched the lives of many. During 25 years as an Air Force spouse, she endured 15 moves, raised two sons and steadfastly kept the home fires burning while Dan’s service often separated them.
Not only was she a consummate homemaker, she excelled as an artist, sculptor, poet, and writer. She wrote an award winning weekly column—“Little Things”--for nearly twenty years as a columnist for the Bellevue Leader Newspaper. Her love of writing poetry garnered an award from the National League of Pen Women. She was an artist who loved to delve into a wide variety of media.
She found expression of that with the Bellevue Artists’ Association, Twenty Talents Art Gallery, and the Omaha “Hot Shops” Artists Coop. For many years, she uplifted terminally ill patients as a Pastoral Care Counselor. She was a long time member of Bellevue’s St. James Methodist Church and for the past 12 years was a member of Thanksgiving Lutheran Church.
