Norma Deloris Faulkner Wright

Norma Wright was born April 14, 1940. She passed January 24, 2021 at 4:58am at 80 years of age.

Norma was born in Bixby, Missouri. Her parents were Irvin Faulkner and Bessie Stricklin Faulkner. She had five brothers, Ernest, Dempsey, Earl, Ray, and Roy Faulkner. Ernest, Dempsey, and Ray are deceased.

On March 7, 1959 Norma married the love of her life, Charles (Pete) Wright. There were married 60 years and had four children, Brenda Wright Sheppard, Tom Wright, Randy Wright, and Marcia Wright. Marcia passed when she was four months old in 1977 and Randy passed at 18 years of age in 1989.

Brenda has two children, Chloe and Camron Sheppard. Tom and his wife Cara, have two children, Dalton and Matthew Wright.

Norma’s mother passed with tuberculosis when she was four years old. One of Norma’s greatest ambitions was to be a dedicated mom because she had missed out on growing up with her mom. She worked tirelessly, loving her children, reading to them, assisting with homework, and taking them to church and school events. She kept an immaculate home, canned food from the garden, cooked meals, and frequently entertained family and friends in the home.

Norma loved attending church and served in a variety of roles in the church through the years including Sunday School teacher, Bible School worker, and singer. Pete loved gospel music and insisted on teaching Norma to sing when they started dating. He said he wanted her to participate with him in his passion for music. She learned and enjoyed singing and ministering with him in a variety of churches, community events, and memorial services.

Norma was with Pete when he served the country for two years in the Army. During that time, they were stationed in Augusta, Georgia and Ft. Lewis in Tacoma, Washington.

Norma’s passion for Christ and love of family and friends will be missed by all who knew her.

Due to COVID masks will be required and we will be limiting how many people can be in the building at one time per the family’s request.
