Larry Dean Fields Jr. began life on September 2, 1975, in Tahlequah, OK the son of Larry Dean Fields Sr. and Karen Hill-Chapman. He attended Tahlequah High School where he competed in weightlifting and was a proud member of the Tahlequah Tigers Football Team. Following graduation, he entered into college and then began working for the Cherokee Nation. Larry was proud to serve his tribe for over 25 years. The latter half of those years was spent working as a medical biller. Larry was a hard worker and was always willing to helps others.

Larry enjoyed many hobbies including playing video games, watching movies, and collecting DC and Marvel Comics. He enjoyed sharing his passion with his sister Lindsey and daughter Alyssa. Larry loved football and always liked visiting with fellow fans. He particularly favorite teams to watch was the Tahlequah Tigers, OU Sooners and Chicago Bears. Larry enjoyed trips to Branson and Fayetteville to go shopping, but he was always open to new places and adventures with his family and friends. Larry never met a stranger; he loved people and was friendly with everyone he met. He had a carefree and jovial personality, a sense of humor, and loved to joke, which made him friends with many people throughout his life. He will always be remembered as one of the best friends to be with in any situation.

He took any opportunity to spend time with his family and loved ones and was faithful to look after those he cared for. He never complained about pain. For him, that would have demonstrated weakness, and that just wasn’t Larry’s style. Larry loved his family and always had a story to tell. A Christian by faith, Larry passed from this life on January 26th, 2021, at his home in Tahlequah, OK. He was 45 years old and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jeremiah and Maggie Hill and Tom and Frances Fields, his dad, Larry Dean Fields Sr., and his uncles, Tim Hill and Sandy Daugherty.

Those left to celebrate his life include his daughter, Alyssa Joy Fields of Hulbert, OK, his Mother and Stepfather, Karen Hill-Chapman and Tommy Dale Chapman, his sister, Lindsey Dawn Chapman, and brother Brandon Fields, all of Tahlequah, OK. Aunts Linda Daugherty and Debbie Daugherty. He leaves more aunts, uncles, many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.

Funeral Services for Larry Dean Fields Jr. will be held on February 2nd, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Reed Culver Chapel with Reverend DJ McCarter officiating. His family will have a visitation on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Reed Culver beginning at 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM. He was a member of the Echota Baptist Church and will be laid to rest at Echota Cemetery in Stilwell, OK. Pallbearers for Larry Include Brandon Fields, Kristian Marshall, Eric Marshall, Jerry Archer, Darren Cantwell, and Roger Hewin.
