LOUIS FLINN, age 78 of Catharpin, Virginia died Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Prince William Hospital, Manassas.
Mr. Flinn was born March 9, 1925 in Middleburg, Virginia son of the late Zachary Taylor and Molly Patton Flinn. He moved to Catharpin in 1948. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1967 with 20 years of service where he served during The Korean Conflict and The Vietnam Era and was involved in the Bay of Pigs. He also retired from Fairfax County in 1990. Mr. Flinn was a member of The American Legion and the VFW. He loved to garden and socialize at Alvey's Store.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald "Scooter" Flinn.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Margaret Ann Flinn, two sons, John Louis Flinn, Sr. and his wife, Linda of Palm Harbor, Florida and Roy Taylor Flinn, of Catharpin, one sister, Edna Clark, of Manassas, two grandsons, John Louis Flinn, Jr. and Andrew Ray Flinn and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2003 at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M. Monday, August 4, 2003 with Rev. Dr. Ralph G. Satter officiating. Interment will follow at Sudley United Methodist Church Cemetery, Catharpin with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Evergreen Volunteer Fire & Rescue, 3510 James Madison Highway, Haymarket, Virginia 20169 or Stonewall Jackson Volunteer Fire Department, Station #11, 7814 Garner Drive, Manassas, Virginia 20109 in memory of Louis Flinn.
