Peter John James, 77, of Elysburg, Northumberland County, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Ann E. (Buehl) James to whom he married May 17, 1969 in St. Joseph’s Church, Ashland, PA. Born in Shamokin, PA September 21, 1943, Peter was the son of the late Peter Francis and Flossie (Fisher) James. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, from 1964 –1967. Peter was employed as a truck driver for International Paper Co. in Mount Carmel for 42 years before retiring in 2011. He was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church in Ashland.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Ann; sons, Peter John James and his wife, Gina of Doylestown, Michael R. James of Atlanta, GA, the Rev. (Fr.) Richard W. James, S.T.L. of Bally; granddaughters, Mary, Katherine and Erin; siblings, Margaret Kabonick, Donna Mascuch, Debra Sienkiewicz.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ralph James, December 2, 2020.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the church. Interment will follow the Mass at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
