Jesus Gonzales, age 76, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2021. He was born in Harlingen, Texas on February 15, 1944, to Guadalupe and Emilia Salazar Gonzales. To some he was known as Brother Jesse or Tio Chuy, but to his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was simply known as Hun and Grandpa. Brother Jesse is survived by his wife Juanita Gonzales (married for 56 years), his son Jesse Gonzales Jr., his son Naphtali Gonzales (wife Nidia), and his only daughter Emily Hernandez (husband Michael). Brother Jesse is also survived by his pride and joy- his (7) grandchildren: Natalie, Mathew, Nathan, Caitlyn, Olivia, Maddox and Sophia. Grandpa is and will forever be loved and missed by his family and all who knew him. Brother Jesse was a God-fearing man who served the Lord faithfully his entire life. Early in his walk with Christ, Brother Jesse served under the ministry of his brother, Eliseo Gonzales Sr. After the passing of Eliseo Sr., Brother Jesse served under the ministry of his nephew, Eliseo Gonzales Jr. He later became an Elder at his current church Harlingen Trinity Worship Center. Brother Jesse was a pillar in the Christian community and served in the ministry alongside his wife for over 50 years. Funeral services are under the direction and care of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home. On Thursday, January 28, 2021, viewing will start at 6 pm and a celebration of life service will follow at 7 pm. Thursday service will be held at Lifeline Heart of Worship (2007 E. Expressway 83, San Benito, Texas). On Friday, January 29, 2021, viewing will be held from 11 am – 1 pm with Funeral Service starting at 1 pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home (26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas). **There will be a 50-person max capacity** On Friday, January 29, 2021, burial service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park (14166 US-83 Bus, La Feria, Texas) at 2 pm. All CDC COVID-19 regulations will be in place. Flowers can be sent to Lifeline Heart of Worship on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
