ODESSA - James Dewitt "Dee" Kendall was born on September 25, 1934 in Cascilla, Mississippi to Joel and Lenora Kendall. He had four older sisters, Catherine, Robby, Bessie and Billie. His mother passed away when he was a very young boy and his father later remarried (Irene). Together they had five sons and a daughter.

Dee met and married his first wife, Faye Goode, in June of 1951 and soon moved to Texas for work, eventually settling in Odessa where he worked at various jobs before starting his own oilfield service company, Kendall Oilfield Service, Inc. The company operated from approximately 1969 to 1993, when he retired. Dee and Dessie then moved to Robert Lee, Texas where he helped establish the Baptist church and served as a Deacon until his passing. Dee was a very hardworking man and was very stubborn at times - especially when he believed in a certain path. He loved and believed in his commitment to the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Dee is survived by his sons: James Glen Kendall, Gary Dewitt Kendall and wife Anna, and Gregory Dewayne Kendall; daughters: Denita Gail Bohannon and husband Frank, Debra Gay Avalos and husband Raphael; stepchildren: Theresa Ann Absher and husband Jerry and Larry Gene Hines; half-sister: Beverly Jean; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Joel & Lenora Kendall; daughter: Glenda Faye Morris; son: Jonathan Gray; sisters: Catherine, Robbie, Bessie and Billie; brothers: Cecil, David, Deral, Larry and Johnny; stepson: Randall Hines; grandson: Jonathan Gray; and great grandson: Hunter Bowers.
