Beverly Jean Coker was born on April 27, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Beverly was the tenth child of eleven children born to Augustus Cobb (Gus) and Omie (Holcombe) Coker. She was the last remaining sibling and is now reunited with her husband, Jerry C. McKinney Sr., daughter, Joanna Hansard and her parents, siblings and many extended relatives.
She was married to Jerry C. McKinney on February 7, 1950 and together they began a large loving family of five daughters and one son.
Beverly influenced many lives with her kindness, compassion, generosity and Christian testimony of God's love and goodness. She enjoyed gardening, making crafts, painting and was an accomplished seamstress. Wherever she was in the home, her open Bible was never far away.
She worked in the supermarket industry, was active as a distributor for the Shaklee Corporation and in her later years, was a caregiver in the home health industry.
She worked tirelessly on behalf of her family and in each job she undertook, she flourished and made the surrounding environment better. She made sure each of her children knew of her great love for them and how much she enjoyed them and their individual families. She spread thelove of Jesus in her everyday life and all who knew her loved her.
Her last years were spent at Green Valley Rehabilitation Center where she was a happy resident and enjoyed visits from her family and Bethesda Community Church members.
Beverly will always be remembered as a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She leaves a Godly heritage for her family and she will be deeply missed.
Beverly was preceded by her husband, Jerry C. McKinney, Sr.; daughter, Joanna Hansard and parents Augustus (Gus) and Omie (Holcombe) Coker and many extended relatives.
Survivors include her children, Deborah (John) Major, Barbara (Johnny) Anderson, Cherlyn (Brock) White, Rebecca (Brent) Arterbury, Jerry (Paula) McKinney, Jr.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren along with many extended relative and friends.
The family wishes to than the Green Valley nursing staff for their care and concern for our mother these past several years.
