Mary Elaine Adkins, 81, Middletown, died Sunday January 6, 2019 at Vindobona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights.
She was the wife of the late Roy F. "Tubby" Adkins Sr.
Born in Middletown on September 9, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Clarence Calvin and Miriam Huffer Rice.
She had been employed as claims processor with GEICO Insurance in Bethesda until her retirement and then worked part time as a sales associate at Matthews Hallmark. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown.
She is survived by a son Roy F. (Patti) Adkins of Surprise, AZ and a daughter Janice (Terry) Mentzer of Middletown.
Two grandsons Terry Mentzer Jr and Ryan Mentzer and fiancee Amanda Alexander
Four sisters Faye (Dick) Greenawalt , Patricia (Paul) Lewis, Connie (Glenn) Kinna all of Middletown and Billy Sullivan of Missouri
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday January 9 at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday January 10 from the funeral home. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery,Middletown.
