Sara Elizabeth Aaron Kinard, age 84, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at The Retreat Nursing Home. Sara Kinard was born on March 20, 1936 to the late Silas Aaron and Florrie Minter Aaron. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Legare Kinard; grandson, Josh Kinard; and brother and sister, James "Tot" Goodman and Corrie Stone.

Sara was a lifelong resident of Monticello and a member of the Monticello Baptist Church and Adult 5 Sunday School Class. She worked as a supervisor for the Monticello Manufacturing Company for 30 years. She retired after working 10 years as a paraprofessional at Washington Park School.

Sara was a member of Project Linus, Busy Bees and Pink Ladies. She enjoyed volunteering at the polls during elections. She was a "people person," always staying active and involved as long as her health allowed. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter and son, Vickie (Ricky) Vickers and Robert Legare "Bob" Kinard of Monticello; grandchildren, Luke Kinard, Meghan Kinard, Elizabeth Vickers, Rebecca Campbell and Michael Vickers; and great-grandchildren, Wesley Kinard, Lauren Kinard, Josh "J. J." Kinard, Marlee Farrar, Jordyn Campbell, Dakota Alexander, Gage Alexander and Paisley Vickers.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at West View Cemetery. Rev. David Artessa will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Tanner, Michael Vickers, Luke Kinard and Mervin Campbell.
