Lee Roy Carter, 91, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born on January 5, 1930 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to parents J. Walter Carter and Audie Mae (Bentley) Carter.
Lee served in the United States Army from 1946 – 1980. He rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class in the 7th Infantry Division and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism. Following his service, he worked for Boeing as an aircraft mechanic.
Lee married Marjorie Jeanette Metcalf. His hobbies included woodworking at Woolaroc and watching NASCAR races. Lee was also an avid John Wayne fan and enjoyed watching his movies.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, his father Walter Carter, his mother Audie Mae Carter, and two sisters Lucinda and Juanita.
Lee is survived by daughter Connie Sue Lawrence, son James Barton Carter, son-in-law James Jeffery Lawrence, daughter-in-law Christine Annette Carter, grandchildren: Cassie Lawrence Bales, James Lucas Carter and Logan Jacob Carter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25 from 1pm – 8pm and on Tuesday, January 26, from 9am - 8pm at Stumpff Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, at 2pm at White rose Cemetery
