Thelma L. Cannon, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Arbor Trail Center in Inverness, FL.
A lifelong Florida resident, Thelma was born in Graceville, Florida on July 26, 1932. After attending public school in the Jackson County education system, she relocated and lived in the Lake County area where she met her husband of many years, the deceased Samuel Cannon.
Thelma had a passion for buying and selling antiques and collectibles and turned that skill into a full-time profession before retirement. She loved to talk to friends and relatives on the phone for hours on a daily basis before her declining health limited that activity.
Thelma leaves to enjoy her memory her two sons, Russell A. Cannon and Thomas R. Cannon, whom both reside in Inverness, Florida; along with her only surviving brother, James Barrentine of East Liberty, Kentucky. Also, she leaves 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Tavares Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778
