Paul J. Sanders was born on July 27, 1930, in Amarillo, Texas. He was the son of Paul, Sr. and Pearl Sanders. He passed away on January 20, 2021, in Boerne, Texas, at the age of 90. He attended Texas A&M, and worked for most of his career as an insurance adjuster and manager at Employers Casualty Company. His specialty was supervising the handling of mass storm claims from hurricanes and tornados.

He served as a scout master for the Boy Scouts, and as a leader in the Junior Achievement program. He served in multiple capacities, including as an elder, in his Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He also loved to hunt and fish. He could fix and build most anything, and was known as a tough, reliable man's man from west Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn E. Sanders, of Boerne, Texas; sister, Beth Stone and husband, Paul, of Port Charlotte, Florida; daughter, Debi S. Connell and husband, Tommy, of Sealy, Texas; son, Shane M. Sanders and wife, Janet, of Waco, Texas; daughter, Alison S. Ingram and husband, Russ, of Boerne, Texas. He had ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Boerne City Cemetery.
