Violet Thomas, 90, died Monday.

Viewing and visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Peace Chapel in Trinity Memorial Park at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021, with Herb McPherson officiating.

Violet was born on February 14, 1930 in Stanton.

She was a homemaker but also worked as an LVN at the Big Spring State Hospital.

She ran the office for her husband’s business, Mission Petroleum.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist and a lifetime resident of Martin and Howard counties.

Violet loved flowers and gardening as well as sewing and canning.

She is survived by one daughter: Kay Barber of Big Spring; one sister: Rosalee Pritchett of Denton; one brother: Glen Smith of Quinlan; two grandchildren: Angela Randle of Big Spring and Mickey Barber of Big Spring; three great grandchildren: Brittney Randle, Demetre Randle, and Zacary Barber; and two great great grandchildren: Travone Hughes and Dominic Adonis Lopez Black.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Nora Lee Coolbaugh Hopper and Clarence Rhader Hopper; and husband: James Dewey Thomas, Jr.
