She attended public schools in Augusta, GA and graduated with honors from Tubman High School.
During World War II she served in the Civil Service. Mrs. Holland's last employment was as a secretary in the Department of Pathology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
She was a devout Episcopalian and was a member of Old St. Andrews Parish Church for 57 years, where she taught Sunday school, worked in the annual tea room and enjoyed her participation in the St. Mary's/St. Agness Guild.
She had the distinction of being the first female delegate to the Diocesan Convention. She was devoted to the Lord's Church, her family and service to others. Mrs. Holland was an excellent cook, talented seamstress and avid reader. She enjoyed working in her garden with her roses and hydrangeas.
