Marilyn Joy Wallace, 73, of Maddock, ND passed away on Sunday 24 Jan 2021 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND. Private family services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery of Esmond, ND.

Marilyn was born on 8 Jul 1947 to Alex and Edna (Beisel) Klein in Devils Lake, ND. She grew up and was raised in Cavalier County, graduating from Alsen High School. After graduation she was working as a teller at the Munich Bank when she met Joseph Thomas where he was working at the Nekoma missile site. They were married and welcomed one son, Michael Thomas to their family. Joe was killed in an automobile accident a short time later.

She was united in marriage to Jack Wallace on 7 Jul 1978 in Devils Lake. The couple relocated to Esmond where Jack continued his trucking business and the couple welcomed a son, Jon Wallace to their family. Marilyn drove bus for the Maddock Public School for many years and managed Jack's accounting and other bookwork for the trucking business. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Devils Lake Elks Club in Devils Lake. She enjoyed bowling, puzzles, board games, playing cards and collecting owls. She raised rabbits and took them to rabbit shows all over North Dakota, including the ND State Fair. She enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her friends, Delores, Judy and Thelma. Marilyn's favorite pastime was spent with her children, grandchildren and their families.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Melissa) Thomas of Maddock, ND and Jon (Michelle) Wallace of Fargo, ND; stepchildren, Greg (Susan) Wallace of Bismarck, ND and Cleo Bachmeier of Valley City, ND; grandchildren, Brody Thomas, Logan Fossen, Ella Fossen, Jeff (Peggy) McCanna, John (Erleen) McCanna, Nichole Beecroft, Alicia (Ben) Walters, Dustin (Kelsey) Walters, Salrah (Louis) Fernandez and Adam (Samantha) Wallace and sister, Joyce McFarlane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas and Jack Wallace; her parents, Alex and Edna Klein and sisters Vergeane and Eileen.
