She graduated from Lane High School in 1972. On March 17, 1973 she married the love of her life, Joseph Budwill Scott, Jr. Both, together, raised two daughters, Stacey and Sloan. She retired from the University of Virginia after 31 years of service in 2004. After enjoying three years of retirement, she continued to work for Safeway Electric Inc. for an additional 13 years, until November 2020.
Marion loved to visit the beach and shopping with family. She had a passion of collecting all things Coca-Cola, dolphins, and memorabilia of Elvis. Family was everything to her, and she will always be remembered for putting others first and always being there without hesitation.
Marion was preceded in death by her father, Alvis, and her mother, Joyce, as well as her mother-in-law, Barbara Scott, and father-in-law, Joseph Scott, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe; her daughter, Stacey M. Morris and her husband, Travis, and her daughter Sloan W. Hall and her husband, Cameron; her five grandchildren, Logan Toney, Katrina Morris, Clay Morris, Kiley Hall, and Joseph Hall; her sister-in-law, Debra Scott; her four sisters, Phyllis, Avis, Judy, and Kaddy; and two brothers, Chris and J.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial will be held private with immediate family.
