Betty Marie Walsh died January 24, 2021 at home in Danville with family by her side.

Mrs. Walsh was born November 15, 1931 in Danville, Illinois, a daughter of Luella Marie (Day) Osborn and Clyde F. Osborn. She married Henry “Hank” Walsh on May 21, 1966 in Danville. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Beth) Smith of Danville, Craig A. (Maggie) Smith of Danville; daughter, Debbie S. (Steve) Todd of Danville; stepson, Steve (Judy) Walsh of Flora, IL; step daughters, Vickie Lynn (Rick) Spidle of Mattoon and Sharon K. (Steve) Forth of Kilgore, TX; grandchildren, Aaron S. (Ambre) Todd of Ocala, FL, Jamie (Sean) Cowie of Noblesville, IN; step grandchildren John (Nikki) Walsh both of Dover, TN, Sarah (Joel) Hackney of Flora, IL, Stephanie (Kevin) Woods of Newton, IL, Shannon (James) Magness of Tyler, TX; 5 great grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are four brothers, Terry (JoAnn) Osborn, other brother Carl (Karen) Osborn and Clydie Osborn all of Danville, IL; two sisters, Joanne Brooks of Georgetown and Linda (Clifford) Hegg of Danville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Osborn of Kankakee, IL.

Mrs. Walsh graduated from Danville High School. She worked at Mills Hospital Supply, Florsheim shoes and at General Electric Company, retiring in 1987. She was then a caregiver for her mother and later for her father. She formerly was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church.

Mrs. Walsh enjoyed traveling, especially ocean cruises, the three family-friend picnics held every year where she made and or purchased gits for adult bingo games and decorating her home for Halloween, Christmas and Easter. Her favorite place to eat was at Jocko’s and looked forward to seeing the staff with each visit. She also looked forward to Facetiming with her great-grandson, Sam, on the phone the last few weeks of her life. She was famous for her chicken wings.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion, Danville, IL 61834. Funeral service will take place at 12 PM following the visitation. Entombment will be at Springhill Cemetery Mausoleum.
