Dale Henry Crum went home to be with his Lord on January 20, 2021.

Dale was born to Samuel and Leona (Shaeffer) Crum near Millerstown, Pa. on February 17, 1934.

He graduated from Lykens Valley Joint Vocational Agricultural High School in Berrysburg, Pa. in 1953.

He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Elaine (Hartman) and celebrated over 65 years of loving marriage and partnership together.

He retired from Roadway Express, Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and Chauffeurs, Local #776, Harrisburg where he served for several terms as Secretary/Treasurer.

Dale loved Jesus. He was a life-long member of various churches, including Hope Grace Church, Dillsburg most recently. He loved his church family whose prayers, love and support were vital in his life. He supported mission and outreach projects and always shared the saving grace of Jesus in his daily life through his actions, daily prayer list and simple words of encouragement to others.

Dale loved his country. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1954 as a heavy equipment operator and MP. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Leatherneck Square Det. 1386, Dillsburg, Pa. as well as the Tri-Valley Marines. He volunteered at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery as part of groups who cared for the flags throughout the cemetery. He served his community in civilian capacity as a Borough Councilman for Lemoyne, Pa. for many years and as an Election Official in Cumberland County.

Dale loved his Masonic Brotherhood. He was a 50-year active member of Eureka/West Shore Lodge #302 F&AM, Mechanicsburg, Pa. He was also a member and past presiding officer of the York Rite Bodies, Samuel C. Perkins RA Chapter #209, Harrisburg Council #7 R&SMM & Pilgrim Commandery #11 KT. He was an active member of Trinity Conclave Red Cross of Constantine serving as Treasurer & a member of Erin Council Knight Masons. He served as an appointed Grand Officer for The Grand Chapter of RAM Pa., The Grand Commandery KT of Pa., and the Grand Council of R&SMM of Pa. He also served as Grand Trustee for the Grand Council of R&SMM of Pa. from 2016 to 2020. He received many awards, accolades, and recognition from all the York Rite Bodies. He enjoyed his Masonic Fraternity & the brotherhood & fellowship it provided him. Dale loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Crum, his parents, his brothers J. Franklin, Horace and Earl, infant sister Louise and his granddaughter, Kate Sweely.

He is survived by his son Douglas. daughter Lori, grandson Kurt, great-granddaughter Cara and numerous nieces and nephews.
