Survived by daughter Jean Kennel; sons John, Richard, Robert, Marty, Ronald, Dennis, Jerry and Ralph Eckstein; sister Dolores Allen; brother Lawrence Hountz; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. November 27, 2001. Age 84 years. Preceded in death by her husband Roman Eckstein; parents John and Maria Hountz and brother Edward Hountz. Visitation is Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville, IN, with a rosary service at 7 P.M. Funeral services are 10 A.M. Friday at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, IN. The family requests memorials to the Oldenburg Academy.
