HIGDON, W.H. Benson - July 27, 1936 - January 23, 2019: Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Benson Higdon of New Harbour, aged 82 years. Predeceased by parents, Lillian and Herbert Higdon; parents-in-law, Minnie and Walter Stacey; brother, Arthur Piercey; brothers-in-law, Grant Higdon, Robert Moore, and Eric Stacey; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Upshall, Ivy Stacey and Sisely Piercey. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories and to celebrate his life with thanksgiving are his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Ruby; daughters, Wendy and Cindy (Sheldon); grandchildren, Renee (Terry), Ashley (Eric), Justin (Sandy), Kyle (Robin), Joshua, and Felicia; 11 great-grandchildren; his caring and devoted home care worker, Lori Williams-Gardiner whom he considered family and he called his "adopted" daughter; sisters, Margaret, Frances, and Madeline (Ron); sister-in-law, Glenys (Percy); brother-in-law, Albert; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation on Thursday, January 24, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, and Friday, January, 25, 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A service of celebration and thanksgiving for Benson's life will be held on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 pm from the Salvation Army Citadel TBS Corps, Dildo with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Dildo. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Benson's memory may be made to the Benson Higdon Memorial Fund.
