It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary Loyce Reese announces her passing from this life on January 22, 2021 at the age of 77. Mary was born in Lyons Point, LA to Evanis P. Schexnayder and Inez (Fontenot) Schexnayder on September 24, 1943.
She worked as a Care Giver. Mary loved to pray, read, and cook, she was always ready to feed whoever was hungry. Her greatest blessings came from the time she was able to spend with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Jim Wade Young (Maria) of Egan, LA, Darrell Young, Sr. of Crowley, LA; her two daughters, Connie M. Simon (David) of Roberts Cove, LA, Sonya Shuman (Greg) of Mermentau, LA; her six grandchildren, Bethany, Darrell, Jr., Devin, Jonathan, Baylee, Chloee; her two great grandchildren, Ethan & Rylee.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Evanis & Inez Schexnayder; her two husbands, John Young & Vernon Reese; her grandparents, Avnel & Evelina Schexnayder, Aras & Felicia Primeaux; her siblings, Lee Forest Schexnayder & Esther Villejoin.
Graveside Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lyons Point, LA on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Clifton LeJeune officiating.
