Gloria Anne (Coughlin) Hurley, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 20, 2021.

A longtime resident of North Quincy, Gloria was the devoted wife of William J. Hurley (deceased) and beloved mother of Mark J. Hurley and his wife Marion of Marshfield, Carol A. (Hurley) Moore and her husband Jesse of Norwell, David J. Hurley and his wife Stephanie of Kingston, Paul J. Hurley and his wife Judy of Westford, and Clare A. (Hurley) Boretti and her husband Scott of Hingham. Loving grandmother of Jessia Walsh (Moore) and her husband Gavin, Tara Hurley, Grace Moore, Andrew Hurley, Emma Hurley, Ryan Boretti, Peter Hurley, Aidan Moore and Christian Boretti. Adoring great-grandmother of Dylan Liam Walsh. Gloria was raised in Mattapan with her two brothers, Joseph Coughlin (deceased) and Edward Coughlin and attended Hyde Park High School.

She worked as an administrative assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank and at Boston Edison. Prior to settling down to be a devoted mom and homemaker, Gloria spent a lot of time enjoying life. She danced at Mosleys and the Riverview Ballroom, spent time in Hampton Beach and Green Harbor with her friends and cousin Dottie, headed up the Mattapan Chapter of the Glenn Miller Fan Club and frequently participated in the Seven Churches visitation Novenas. After raising her five children, Gloria worked at Jordan Marsh/Macy's and scored and shared many bargains. Gloria was well known for her bright smile and genuine kindness. She will remain in the hearts of her family and her bright light will guide them forever.

A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Resurrection, Hingham. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gloria during visiting hours on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 1-3 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street (off Rte. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. It is requested that you register to attend the visitation below. Private interment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Gloria may be made to the Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379 or to Catholic Television Network, PO Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471.
