Ruth Lucy Schmidt Harrison,
Born April 24, 1921, in Stockton, CA. At 99, she passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020, in Roseville CA.
Graduated from Jefferson Grammar school and Stockton High school in '39. Ruth loved the water, did synchronized swimming, and swam around Santa Cruz Pier for fun. The family spent many vacations there along with other Stockton families. Ruth also love dance and taught dance mainly tap.
Ruth married James Harrison in 1942 just prior to his leaving for Navy training. She raised her family while working part-time in title insurance and then for CalTrans for 20 plus years.
At Retirement, Ruth took up sewing, golf, snorkeling, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing. She enjoyed worldwide travel with family and friends. Ruth found USSR especially intriguing but Hawaii was her favorite. She and her 'Golden Girls" friends were on the go all the time. She was extremely lucky at cards and loved playing as well as going to the casinos in Tahoe and Reno. The family had many good times at Tahoma cabin and then moved to Truckee and Reno before setting in Roseville. She attributed her longevity to staying active and a good martini now and then.
Preceded in death by loving husband of 36 years, James Russell Harrison, son Craig Virgil Harrison, and brothers Jack and Tom Schmidt.
Survived by: daughter, Roxene Marie Harrison, grandaughters, Ruth Marie Stoick of Marietta, Minn, Charlotte Ann Crabtree of Rocklin, Calif and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Olivia, Sonny and Richard.
No services will be held at this time. The family hopes to have a Celebration of Life when normal times return.
