Bob E. Wright, 89 passed away at home Jan. 22nd after a short illness. Bob was born in Quinton, Oklahoma July 20, 1931 to Arkley and Ida Elizabeth Wright. He joined his older siblings, Myra Lou, Ernest and Dorothy. Bob and his family moved to Emmett in 1936 where Bob attended school. Bob met his sweetheart and future wife, Lolita Howard, in the 8th grade at Brick school. After they were married Bob worked at the Boise Cascade saw mill.
In 1958 he joined the Idaho State Police force. His first assignment took the family to Coeur d’ Alene, he advanced through the ranks to a patrolman. He was promoted to the rank of a Sergeant in 1971 and was assigned to District 4 in Twin Falls. Bob retired as a Captain in 1989 and he and Lolita returned to Emmett where they have since resided.
Bob is survived by his wife Lolita; son, Craig (Jane) of Payson, Utah and daughters, Linda (Merlin) Miller, Meridian, Idaho and Teresa (Shawn) Alder, Emmett and his sister Dorothy Ash of Emmett. His 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews will miss his great sense of humor.
Bob loved camping, fishing and traveling with family and friends. He loved people and helping others, whether as a patrolman, friend, neighbor or just a stranger in need he was quick to help. He loved his Savior and serving the Lord.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, 1001 E 2nd Street in Emmett. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment will follow in the Emmett Cemetery.
