Melba June Lawson-age 86 of Luttrell went home Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was a member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly, Luttrell. Melba was a retired employee of Sports Belle in Knoxville. Preceded in death by mother, Nola Wallace Hill; great-grandson, Diego Lucas; sister, Beverly Lawson; very special friend, Sonny McBee.
Survivors: daughters, Jackie Sparks and husband, Adam of North Carolina; Pamela Morgan of Maynardville. Four grandchildren, Bambi Manis, Charles Manis, Kayla King and Gabriel McMahan; nine great-grandchildren, Elias Lucas, Alonzo Lucas, Bryson Lane, Hayden Manis, Darrion Manis, Lucas Rose, Wyatt Wade, Mason Wade and Ethan McMahan. Brother, Jimmy Hill and wife, Teresa. Several nieces and nephews along with her church family and a host of friends.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly, Rev. Labrandon Marie, Rev. Paul Thomas Hughes officiating with music by Mavis and Paul Thomas Hughes. Interment will follow at Community Cemetery, Luttrell. Pallbearers: Alonzo Lucas, Elias, Lucas, Gabriel McMahan, Hayden Manis, Bryson Lane, Charles Manis. Honorary Pallbearers: Ethan McMahan, Darrion Manis, Lucas Rose.
