On October 21, 1762 Matthias Wilhoit and wife Mary sold 60 Acres of land on the West Side of Muddy Run for 20.10.00 to Matthias Rouse, part of a greater tract of land granted to Matthias' father by patent dated 28 September 1728 for 289 Acres of land. This deed was signed by Matthias and Mary Wilhoit and witnessed by Samuel Klug and Michael Thomas (Culpepper County Deed Book "D", page 140)

Signed by Matthias Wilhoit (no Wife signed). Witnessed by William Chapman, Mark Finks and Abraham Buford. (Culpepper County, VA Deed Book "F",

Matthias Wilhoit (Without Wife) sold 100 Acres of land for 20 pounds to Adam Fisher, that land purchased from George Rouse (above). Witnessed by William Chapman, Abraham Buford, and Mark Fink.

18 May 1772, Matthias Wilhoit and wife Hannah sold 50 Acres of land to John Cubbage for 15 pounds. Signed by Matthew Wilhoit and Hannah Wilhoit and witnessed Daniel Brown and John Lovell, Jr. This land probably came through his wife Hannah as there is no record of purchase. From these dated it appears that Matthias probably married Hannah between 30 September 1771 and 18 May 1772.

! Matthias Wilhoit does not appear on the 1782 Tax List for Culpepper County, Virginia. He is listed on the 1781 Official list of recruits for Military Service for the Continental Army, for Culpepper County, Virginia. It is believed that he was already in Orange County, North Carolina by this time.
