Elnora Jones, age 71, was born on January 3, 1950 in Chattanooga, TN, to the late Charlie Hand Sr. and Elizabeth Murray. She was a resident of Dayton, OH for 50 years. Elnora graduated from Riverside High School in Chattanooga, TN. She worked at Holiday Inn and Suits as the supervisor over housekeeping for 35 years in Dayton, OH. Elnora was baptized at an early age. She was a member of Faith Life Church. Elnora was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was sweet, fun, loving, honest, and straight forward. She loved family gatherings, cooking, singing, watching the tube, playing games on her tablet, and talking on the phone.
On Sunday January 17, 2021 Elnora Jones transitioned from this life to be in the presence of the Lord. She was also preceded in death by: daughter, Linda Hand-Hammonds; son-in-law Robert E. Henry, Sr.; (3) sisters, Charlene Hand-McClendon, Shirley Murray and Jeanette Jones; (3) brothers, Charlie Hand Jr., Aubrey Jr., James Murray and Bonus, Aubrey Murray Sr. Elnora Jones leaves to cherish precious memories and celebrate her life; her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Robert Jones; daughter, Elizabeth Henry; son, Adrian Hand; son-in-law Anthony Hammonds; (19) grandchildren; Javon Hammonds, Sheree Hammonds, Dewon Hammonds, Sunday Hammonds, Jamar Hammonds, Shyra Hammonds, Syria Hammonds, Shamya Hammonds, Jordan Hammonds, Shakei Hammonds, Quinisha Hodges, Jacinta Hodges, Jamilla Hodges, Adrionna Hand, Andrea Hand, Adrian Hand Jr., Patrice Hand, Steven Miller, Chaquinta Daniel and Shalene Daniel; (26) great grandchildren, and (1) great, great grandchild. (2) sisters, Patricia Williamson and Lolita Murray-Herman; special sisters/cousins, Deborah Ballinger, Toni Sutton, Theodore Watson and Anner Lane, (2) brothers, Authur and Percy Murray; special grandson and granddaughter Javon and Sunday Hammonds; granddaughter- in-law, Kelly Koons; special nephew, Torrence McClendon, special niece, Latisha Caldwell *Tishaboo*; (35) nieces & nephews, (82) great nieces & nephews, (50) great, great nieces and a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins, The Dixons.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave., Trotwood, Ohio 45416, with Pastor Darrico Murray officiating. Walk through visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment: West Memory Gardens Cemetery.
