Janice Elayne Reeves Barton

Jun 01, 1942 - Jan 19, 2021

Janice Elayne Reeves, Barton, 78, of Old River/Winfree, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Janice was born June 1, 1942 in Mont Belvieu, Texas to Ellis Willard Reeves and Willie Mae Dugat.

She was a member of Family Worship in Old River where she had many friends. She loved making and donating ‘prayer blankets’ for Church members and family. Several grandkids have baby blankets she made with their name and birthdate on them. Embroidery was a great passion of hers as was her small front porch flower/veggie garden. Visiting family and friends and having them visit her was always uplifting to her. Going to Dayton Senior Center and playing cards and bingo was just one of her many past times. She loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchild dearly. Her siblings meant the world to her and her nieces and nephews were as close to her as her own kids. Mother, Momma, Granny, Aunt Janice will be missed by all who loved her. Her famous “Timex” will forever be a fond memory to any who was given one.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Henry “Buddy” Parker, Sr. & Richard Barton; son Henry “Butch” Parker and wife Bertha; granddaughter Brenda Ann Parker; sisters Jeanette Hatcher, Joann Thornton & Willa Dean Parker.

Those left loving her precious memories are her son Bill Parker and wife Bertha of Kirbyville, daughters Gracie Sellers and husband Pete of Dayton, Denise Worden and husband Jack of Dayton, Cynthia Boyd and husband Tom of Old Salem and Sherry Bolton and husband Jerry of Splendora; brothers Jerrell Reeves and wife Martha of Dayton, and Don Reeves of Dayton; sisters Jackie Reeves of Dayton and Theresa Davis of Jasper; grandkids Buster, Robert, Donald and Shawn Parker, Curt Erwin, Michelle Lee, Christina Martini, Heather Bozoglou, Jennifer Turner, Allen & Gerald Jordan, Janice Trevino, Samantha Sonnier, Cyndi Calhoun, Chad and Travis Boyd, Jerry Bolton and Chasity Rose. She left many great grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren to cherish her memories.

Graveside services will be held at Reeve’s Cemetery, Old River Winfree, January 30th, 11:30AM with Brother Clay Duckworth officiating.
