Mr. Claude Franklin “Sunkie” Smith, 88, passed away, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Mr. Smith was born, April 12, 1933, in Homerville, GA, to the late Lonnie Dock Smith and Maggie Aline Smith Smith. He was self-employed carpenter and home builder. He was preceded in death by two sons: Rob Smith and Dennis D. Smith; two sisters: Betty Ruth Smith and Annie Lounette “Teen-Ince” Shirley; one brother: Aaron Smith.
Survivors are one daughter: Nita Smith, Homerville; two sons: Frank Smith(Janice) Smith and Reese Smith, both of Homerville; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
