away on May 18, 2020 at the age of 96. He was born on January 17, 1924 in Tonganoxie, Kansas to Paul Glen Davidson and Vera Irene Smith Davidson. He was married to the former Dorothy Mae Kanney for 56 years and together raised two sons.
Lt. Col. Davidson was a graduate of Purdue University and served as a career Air Force officer for 30 years. He initially served in the Pacific during World War II as a B-24 bomber pilot and continued his flying career during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Following his retirement, he taught aviation at the local community college
and began volunteering with the Georgia Council for International Visitors and Angel Flight, where he would provide private air transportation for medical treatment to those in need. He was an active member of the Silver Wings Fraternity Order of Daedalions and Woodstock Christian Church.
Lt. Col. Davidson was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glenn, his first wife Dorothy, and daughter-in-law Arlene.
He is survived by his wife Judith Davidson, his sons Greg and Jefrey(Pamela), and his five grandchildren: Sarah Davidson, Rachel Harris, Sydney Tilford (Henry), Alexander Davidson, and Olivia Davidson. Five step-children and eleven step-grandchildren also survive him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 @ 11 a.m. in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, GA.
