John M. Pennington Jr., 73, of Kittanning, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his home.

He was born March 7, 1947 in Kittanning, a son of the late John Sr. and Zelda (Edwards) Pennington and lived in the area all of his life.

He was retired from Eljer where he was a sprayer. John attended the First Church of God. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed tending to his flower garden and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Sally (Cloak) Pennington; son, Brian Pennington; daughter, Christy (Pennington) Negrette; son, John Pennington; sisters, Martha (Pennington) Reed, Eva (Pennington) Cunningham, Norma (Pennington) Pence, Brenda (Pennington) Titus and Bernice (Pennington) McMillen; grandchildren, Jeffrey Pennington, Marcelo, Kalia, and Sofiya Negrette, Brittani Beacom, and Cody Bracken; and great-grandson, Jack Beacom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Donald “Dood” Pennington and Gary “Sonny” Pennington; and half brothers, Robert Edwards and Paul Pryor.

Burial was in Mateer Cemetery, Templeton.
