Amance Desautels, age 87, resident of Milford and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved husband to Doris Pelletier Desautels, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. Born on September 13, 1925 in La Patrie, Quebec, Canada; he was the son of the late Leonard and Yvonne Blais Desautels. Amance was a self-employed owner of a building and remodeling company for many years. Amance truly loved his work, but especially enjoyed fishing and clam digging in his spare time. He was a gentle man who loved storytelling and solving problems. Amance was especially known for his comedic side, for he was a great jokester. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Doris, Amance is survived by his children Carol Gosselin (Art) and Richard Desautels (Traci); grandchildren Gary (Wendy), Kevin (Nickie), Erica, Ethan, Evan, and Ellie; great grandchildren Kayla, Ryan, Autumn, and Graham; siblings Jean-Camille, Urbana, Madeleine, Rhea, Yolande, Jules, Julienne, Suzanne, Yvon, and Paul. He is predeceased by his siblings Eodald, Aldor, Serene, Ovila, Pauline, Helene.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 3rd at St. Gabriel's Church, 26 Broadway, Milford, CT at 12PM. Burial will be private. Friends and family may call on Monday, June 3rd, at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460 from the hours of 10AM until 11:30AM.
