Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Yarbrough Phillips, age 56 of Wedowee, were held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Buford Gaines officiating. Burial will take place at Sellers Cemetery in Randolph County.

Mrs. Phillips passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Clay County, Mrs. Phillips also lived in and around Randolph County for most of her life. She worked and retired from the Clay County Board of Education after 34 years. She loved spending time with her family, baking cakes, singing, planting flowers and helping out at the nursing home. She always talked about her precious grandboys, who she cared for dearly.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her son, Brandon Knight (Jade); two grandsons, Bryson and Greyson Knight; three sisters: Helen Brooks (Kenneth), Kathy Sprayberry (Keith), and Cynthia Soleman (Mark); one brother, James Yarbrough Sr. (Susan); her special friend, Barry Nelson; three nieces: Patricia Crowe, Alaina Steen (Jonathan), and Gina Treadwell (Tyler); two nephews, James Yarbrough Jr. (Breanna) and Michael Koutsantanou (Maggie); one great-nephew, Tucker Yarbrough and one great-niece, Destiny Thomason.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Otha and Christene Ball Yarbrough; one brother, Jimmy Yarbrough; and one half-brother, Harold Yarbrough.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Knight, James Yarbrough Sr., Keith Sprayberry, Mark Soleman, Scott Jordan, and Jonathan Steen.
