Dorothy was born June 16, 1926 in Davenport Washington to Harry John Gross Sr. and Hazel G. Wright. Dorothy served in the U.S Navy during war time. She married David Hemphill Sr. and gave birth to three children. Dorothy lived in several states, and then came to settled in California. She later married Nelson O'Conner and owned a car and motorcycle shop. Dorothy loved to work in the yard and make dolls. She is the last one in her generation left.

Dorothy is survived by her son David Hemphill and his wife Mary in California. Serval grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death are Parents Harry Sr. 1979 and Hazel 1999. Husband David Hemphill Sr. 1989. Daughter Diane LaFromboise 2014 San Jose Ca. Daughter Donia Levett 2016 San Jose Ca. and Second husband Nelson O'Conner 2020 Lodi Ca. Sister Hazel Jean Lyson 1979 Seattle Wa. Sister Helyn Jackson 1998, Washington,Brother, Harry Gross Jr. 2006 California, Sister ,Irene Fisher 2013 Taft Calif.
Dorothy will be buried with her husband in veterans cemetery in San Bruno, San Mateo County, California.
Dorothy tried to help everyone she came in contact with. And was loved by all who met her.
