"Obie", according to the death certificate had been a Dispatcher for Champion Paper, in Pasadena, Texas. He drove a passenger van to pick up Senior Citizens, including my parents, who were living in the City of South Houston, Texas.

ERNEST E. "OBIE" O'BRIEN, 78, of Pasadena, died Thursday, November 6, 1986. in a Houston hospital. He was a member of the Austin Avenue Baptist Church, Park Place Lodge No. 1172 A.F. & A.M. and the Jacinto City Senior Citizens Group. Survivors include his daughters, Betty Sink, of Pasadena and Jo Nell Sears, of Wichita, Kansas; sons, Donald O'Brien, of Trinity, Texas and Dennis O'Brien. of Pasadena; brother, B.L. O'Brien, of Pasadena, 12 grandchildren. 25 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. November 8, 1986 at the Austin Avenue Baptist Church. 903 E. Austin Ave., Pasadena with the Rev. Nick Michalinos officiating. Interment will follow at the Brookside Cemetery. COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 901 S. Main @ Harris, Pasadena, 713-472-4337.
