Ms. Bruce was born in Sandersville, the daughter of the late Charlie T. Shurling and the late Teresa Stanley Shurling. Mary had a true independent spirit, never meeting a challenge that she was not willing to meet head-on. She was also very crafty, and really enjoyed sewing, cross stitching and crocheting afghans. Mary genuinely loved spending time working in her yard doing whatever task that was needed. She loved her family dearly and set out to make sure they were taken care of and had all that they needed. Ms. Bruce is preceded in death by her two husbands, Ted Jackson and Randall Bruce; her brother, Tommy Shurling; and her brother-in-law, James Goodman.
Ms. Bruce is survived by: her children, Dawn Turner (Stuart) of Tennille, and Carey Jackson (Kristina) of Deepstep; grandchildren, Tyler Turner, Kristen Turner (Quen), and Ally Jackson (Chance); great-grandchildren, Jordan Lane and Addisyn King; sisters, Linda Goodman of Sandersville and Sue Tompkins (Frank) of Oconee; a special aunt, Peggy Wallace of Sandersville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
May and Smith Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
