Mrs. Whitfield was born on January 27, 1932 in Martin County to the late Grover and Maude Lee Holiday Rogerson. She was a retired retail clerk with Rose’s and Walmart. Peggy was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ, she loved cooking, working at Walmart and family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her husband Fate Whitfield; son, Charles Whitfield and sister, Janice Modlin.
Survivors include her son, James Whitfield of Oak City; brothers, Charles Rogerson of Williamston and Linwood Rogerson of California; grandchildren, seven; great grandchildren, sixteen and numerous great great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Hamilton Cemetery with Rev. Warren Grubbs officiating.
