She attended school in Hampton, graduating in 1958. Following high school she moved to York and worked various jobs for many years. She was united in marriage to Dexter Huber in 1960. To this union, two children were born.
In 1992 she was married to Jodie Ward in York. Doris continued working until her retirement in 2011.
She enjoyed motorcycle trips, camping, fishing, crocheting, quilting and baking.
She was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson before becoming a member of First United Methodist in York. She was also a member of United Methodist Women.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Alfred and sister-in-law Marlyce Smith.
