Thrash Metal Singer. Baloff was the vocalist for "Exodus" a band he formed in 1981 with Kirk Hammett (guitarist), Tom Hunting (drummer) and Geoff Andrews (bassist). The band became a proponent of thrash metal music. Their demo "Whipping Queen and Death and Dominion" became widely popular in 1982 though tape trading. In 1985, the first album, "Bonded by Blood," was released. Before their second disc was released, Baloff was dismissed from the band although he did receive writing credit for three songs on the second album. Baloff formed another short lived band, "Piranha" and would sing with several Bay area bands. In 1997, he reunited with his former "Exodus" band mates for a concert in San Francisco. A live album and tour followed that performance. Plans were in the works for another tour and album when he suffered a major stroke and was declared brain dead. His vocal skills were considered a major contributor to the thrash metal sound.
