Delmer Lehi Olson, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 7,1997, in Preston, Idaho.
He was born April 3, 1913, in Mink Creek, Idaho, the son of Gustaf and Elizabeth Petersen
Olson. He lived all of his life on the ranch in Station Creek, northeast of Preston. He
attended the Oneida Academy in Preston and served in the Spanish American LDS Mission.

He married Velda Baird of Lewiston, Utah, on July 5, 1940, in the Logan LDS Temple. Velda
passed away June 11, 1996. Delmer farmed his entire life, as well as worked for Utah
Power & Light Company. He was an avid community booster, served on the Preston School
Board, and spoke at many patriotic and political funtions. He served in many church
positions including being Bishop of two different wards, and was also an officiator in
the Logan LDS Temple. He was a beloved father, brother, and friend.

He is survived by four sons and two daughters, Nathan B. (Dana) Olson, Highland Calif.;
Jimmie D. (Anna Beth) Olson, Mink Creek, Idaho; RaNae (Doug) Mellor, Meridian, Idaho;
Jeff E. (Jackie) Olson, Preston, Idaho; C. Kevin Olson, Murray, Utah; Millie (Ron) Mower,
American Falls, Idaho; 30 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Venice (Paul)
Larsen, Hyde Park, Utah; and a brother, Merlin (Verla) Olson, Boise, Idaho. He is
preceded in death by his wife, Velda, five sisters, Ruby Reeder, Selma Fellows, Elaine
Smith, Hilva Fellows, Geneva Wallgren, and by three brothers, LeGrand Olson, Stanley
Olson, and Rulon Olson.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 11, 1997, at noon in the Mink Creek Ward
Chapel, with Bishop Wynn Costley conducting.
