Son of Burr Washington & Catherine Hines McKim, husband of Rachel Carnes McKim.

Obituary - James McKim, whose sickness has been mentioned from time to time, died Monday night of last week. Mr. McKim was 74 years of age; was born in Loudon county, Va., and united in marriage with Rachel Carnes in 1855. To this union there were seven children; four are dead and the three living are Mrs. James Randal, of Cambridge; Mary Randal, who is at home, and Clark, who lives on the home place.
Mr. McKim was a soldier of the Civil War, having served 3 years and 9 months in Co I, 80th O. V. I. He was a member of the M. P. church for many years. Funeral services Wednesday, conducted by H. O. Lucas, after which the Sons of Veterans took charge of remaining services. Interment in Bell's cemetery.

Mrs. Lulu Martin, nee McKim, of Newark and Miss May McKim, of Columbus, attended thier uncle's, James McKim's funeral last Wednesday.
