News has been received by telephone of the death at 1 o'clock
this, Friday, morning of R. Cole Foster, which occurred at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. J. R. McDonald, in Courtland. Mr. Foster had been unwell all summer, and desperately ill for the past two weeks. He had been suffering from heart trouble, but the immediate cause of his death was Bright's disease. The funeral and interment will take place in Florence at 11 o'clock a.m. on Sunday. The deceased was a bachelor, sixty years of age and quite wealthy. For many years he had been junior member of the firm of Porter & Foster, leading merchants of Town Creek. The recent death of Dr. Porter, followed by that of Cole Foster, deprives the firm of both its principals and the firm name will pass out of existence. Mr. Foster made no pretentions to religion, but was a kind-hearted, generous citizen, and numbered his friends by the score. Leighton News.

The interment took place in the Florence cemetery last Sunday, the funeral services being conducted by Rector R. R. Harris, of the Episcopal church. Decedent was born in Florence in February, 1845, but resided the greater part of his life in Lawrence county. He has several relatives here.
