Services held 4/25 (Wed.) in the Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons. Burial in Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Rev. John Craig officiated.

BORN 1/6/1921 in Milam County. Lived most of his life in the Houston area.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WW-2. He graduated from the University of Houston and retired from Charter Oil Company.

Preceded in death by parents, Ervin A. and Beatrice (Franklin) Bownds; brother, Adrian Bownds and sister, Joye Bownds Schmidt; also grandparents, John H. and Daisy Keen Franklin and Ira and Addie Coffman Bownds were natives of Milam County.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Dorothy Batten Bownds; sons, Lawrence Ervin Bownds & Wife, Lori, Frank Murray & wife, Marsha; grandchildren, Brian & Darla Bownds and Maureen & Marian Murray; sister, Yvonne Bownds Cockrell; many nieces and nephews.
